Inspect and replace Crankshaft gear?

The crankshaft sprockets should be inspected or replaced if damaged or worn.
Worn teeth on a timing sprocket.
This inspection should include a timing chain deflection check. To conduct this test, simply depress the chain at its midway point between the gears and measure the amount that the chain can be deflected. If the deflection measurement exceeds specifications, the timing chain and gears should be replaced.

If the crankshaft drive gear requires replacement, this can be done with the engine in the car. The figure below shows a crank gear being removed while the crankshaft is in the block.
The crank sprocket can be removed with the crankshaft still in the engine.

This will help.
Thanks.
