Accessory Drive Belts
ADJUSTMENT
DRIVE BELT ROUTINGS
INSPECTION
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
Instructions are mentioned below:---
Adjustment
All engines use an automatic drive belt tensioner. No adjustment is necessary. It is recommended that the belt tension indicator mark be inspected with the engineOFF at 60,000 mile (96,000 km) intervals. If the indicator mark is not between the MIN and MAX marks, the drive belt is worn or an incorrect drive belt has been installed.
Drive Belt Routings
Inspection
Inspect the belts for signs of glazing or cracking at least once a year. A glazed belt will be perfectly smooth from slippage, while a good belt will have a slight texture of fabric visible. Cracks will usually start at the inner edge of the belt and run outward. All worn or damaged drive belts should be replaced immediately. It is best to replace all drive belts at one time, as a preventive maintenance measure, during this service operation.
Removal & Installation
Using a 15mm wrench attached to the drive belt tensioner pulley, rotate the tensioner clockwise to release the tension. Remove the drive belt from the pulley. When installing the new drive belt, ensure that the drive belt is routed correctly and note the position of the indicator mark on the tensioner.
This details will help.
Thanks.
