Power Steering Pump Replacing details are as follows:---
Removal & Installation For
3.8L ENGINE
4.6L ENGINE:---
3.8L Engine
- Remove the power steering pump drive belt.
- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
- Disconnect the power steering pressure hose from the pump.
- Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering pump .
- Disconnect the wiring harness from the power steering pump.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the coolant recovery reservoir.
- Remove the power steering pump retaining bolts.
- Remove the power steering pump.
- Transfer the power steering pulley as needed.
To install:
- Install the power steering pump to the engine.
- Install the power steering pump retaining bolts and tighten to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
- Install the coolant recovery reservoir.
- Raise the vehicle.
- Connect the wiring harness to the power steering pump.
- Connect the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump and tighten to 22 ft. lbs. (30 Nm).
- Connect the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the power steering pump drive belt.
- Bleed the power steering system.
- Inspect the power steering system for leaks.
4.6L Engine
- Remove the drive belt.
- Install a drain pan under the vehicle.
- Disconnect the power steering return hose from the power steering reservoir.
- Remove the power steering pressure hose from the power steering pump.
- Remove the power steering pump mounting bolt.
- Remove the power steering pump from the vehicle.
- Remove the power steering pulley.
- Remove the power steering reservoir.
To install:
- Install the power steering reservoir.
- Install the power steering pulley.
- Install the power steering pump to the vehicle.
- Install the power steering pump mounting bolt and tighten to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
- Install the power steering pressure hose to the power steering pump and tighten to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm).
- Install the power steering return hose to the power steering reservoir.
- Remove the drain pan from under vehicle.
- Install the drive belt.
- Bleed the power steering system.
