You have to remove lower instrument cover.Once you remove the lower instrument cover under the column. You can now see the switch. Its about 2/3 of the way down the column. It will have a fairly large plug going to it. Swich is located right around the area where column bolts up to dash. 2 screws hold switch on column. Remove both screws.Once you remove it, you will see a rod. You have to have key In RUN and then line up rod on new switch and screw back into place. Then plug it in.

Step by Step Removal and Installation procedure:--------

REMOVAL
Disconnect battery ground cable.
Remove lower instrument panel steering column cover.
Rotate ignition switch lock cylinder to the RUN position.
Disconnect the ignition switch electrical connector.
Remove the two screws retaining ignition switch.
Disengage the ignition switch from the actuator.
INSTALLATION
Adjust the ignition switch by sliding the carrier to the ignition switch RUN position.
NOTE: A new replacement ignition switch assembly will be set in the RUN position as received.

IMPORTANT NOTIFICATIONS:-----

  • Make sure that the ignition switch lock cylinder is in the RUN position. The RUN position is achieved by rotating the ignition switch lock cylinder approximately 90 degrees from the LOCK position.
  • Install the ignition switch pin into the actuator. It may be necessary to move the ignition switch slightly back and forth to align the ignition switch mounting holes with the lock cylinder housing threaded holes.
  • Install retaining screws. Tighten to 5.6 - 7.9 Nm (50 - 69 inch lbs.) .
  • Connect electrical connector to ignition switch.
  • Connect battery ground cable.
  • Check ignition switch for proper function, including START and ACC positions.
  • Also, make certain that the column is in the LOCK position.

1995 Ford Taurus: Ignition switch not turning OFF?

Ignition switch replaced. The relays and fuses all checked ok.

But still the ignition switch will not turn off.

Try this, hot feed the fuse panel to make it run and turn off.

If this works, then problem is not ignition switch or relay or fuse.

The problem is  broken actuator rod in the steering column. It is a plastic rod with a metal pin the actuates the plastic rod for the ignition switch to turn the vehicle off. You can start the vehicle with the key because the two rods push against each other to start the car is there. But when you go to turn the vehicle off with the key, the rod will not pull the other rod for the ignition switch to turn the engine off because the pin has fallen out. The stering column will have to be removed from the vehicle and disassembled to replace the actuator rod. The  steering column needs to be disassembled. If you have no expierience with steering columns, it is very daunting to perform the job.Get it done at professional garage.

This will help.
Thanks,.

Feels Like Brake pedal Pulsating

Brake pedal Pulsates when brakes are applied to slow down or stop.
Also the Front right Wheel is hot to touch.
Calipers and rotors with brake pads are replaced.

OK,in most of such cases the issue is with faulty/worn out brake caliper or brake rotors and brake pads.
But if this common parts are already replaced, then issue can be with this parts not seated or fitted properly or not aligned properly or not greased properly while installing. Also if this are low quality aftermarket parts then this can be one more reason why new parts are faulty, even they are replaced.

CHECK/INSPECT this
Does it pull to that side when braking?
If no pull and only pulsating then see which wheel is getting hot.

On that wheel which is getting hot, you need to check the caliper hardware for being lubricated and the pins and slides working freely, check the caliper piston for being slightly cocked when it was re-seated, as well as caliper piston are sticking in anyway.

When getting the pistons installed did you retract both pistons in it evenly? If not, then this will cause the pulsation. Also check that the rubber seals around the pistons are not interfering with piston movement.

If the above are ok, you need to use a dial indicator to check the hub for runout as well as check the new rotor for run-out. This gives same affect as a warped rotor.

HUB getting faulty is rare in such cases, but if all basic and regular possibilities checked ok,then that the only possible issue ,that will cause this problem.

This is one reason most shops use an on the car brake lathe. So that they can compensate for the hub runout when machining the rotors. That is required to inspect while replacing rotors.

BUT in-case if you dont have a dial indicator and its not possible to get one on rent from local auto part shop or from near by garage.
Then there is one more way  do the following: --
Pull the wheel, install the lug nuts to tighten the rotor to the hub face and spin the rotor. If you hear or feel it catching at times on the pads, then the hub does have excess run-out. Two choices at that point - replace the hub bearing assembly or have a shop machine the new rotor on the truck to compensate for the hub runout/ worn out.

If ok, then it is a faulty caliper and you need to replace it.
Please use branded and original parts. They cost more but you get accurate performance and they last long and also comes with warranty.

This details will help.
Thanks.
