Front Crankshaft Seal
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION: ---
The details are as follows :----
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions section.
- Remove or disconnect the following:
Negative battery cableAccessory drive beltsSide engine mountValve coverCrankshaft pulleyFront coverBalance shaft belt, if equippedTiming beltTop Dead Center (TDC) sensor, if equippedCrankshaft timing sprocketFront crankshaft seal

To install:
- Lubricate the crankshaft seal lip with grease prior to installation.
- Install the front crankshaft seal so that it is flush with the surface of the oil pump housing.
- Install or connect the following:
Crankshaft timing sprocketTop Dead Center (TDC) sensor, if equippedTiming beltBalance shaft belt, if equippedFront coverCrankshaft pulley. Tighten the bolt to 181 ft. lbs. (245 Nm) on 2001-02 models, or 47 ft. lbs. (64 Nm) plus an additional 60 degrees on 2003-06 models.Valve coverSide engine mountAccessory drive beltsNegative battery cable - Check the engine oil level and add if necessary.
- Start the engine and check for leaks.
