If you need dis-assembly or replacement instructions for any other auto/car part, or you want to ask question related to your car/truck jeep problem then please leave the comment with your details, so I can provide you the required instructions and solutions.

The procedure is as follows :----

  2. Loosen the tie rod end-to-power steering gear jam nut.
  3. Remove the tie rod end-to-steering knuckle cotter pin and nut.
  4. Using a press type ball joint removal tool, separate the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. Take care to not damage the threads on the joint.
  5. While supporting the power steering rod, remove the tie rod end, be sure to count revolutions required to remove the tie rod end.
To install:
  1. Install the new tie rod end, turn it the same amount of revolutions necessary to remove it and tighten the jam nut to 42 ft. lbs. (58 Nm) and the tie rod end-to-steering knuckle nut to 29 ft. lbs. (40 Nm).
EXCEPT INTEGRA
  1. Raise and safely support the vehicle. Remove the front wheels.
  2. Remove the cotter pin and the nut from the tie rod end. Use a press type ball joint remover tool, separate the tie rod from the steering knuckle. Be careful to not damage the threads on the joint.

To install:
  1. Reverse the removal procedure. Always use a new tie rod lockwasher and cotter pin during reassembly.
  2. Torque the tie rod end-to-power steering gear to 40 ft. lbs. (55 Nm) and the tie rod end-to-steering knuckle nut to 32 ft. lbs. (44 Nm). Install a new cotter pin.
  3. Fit the locating lugs into the slots on the rack and bend the outer edge of the washer over the flat part of the rod, after the tie rod nut has been properly tightened.
