The procedure is as follows :---
Ignition Lock Cylinder
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
- Disable the air bag system.
- Remove the lower panel of the dashboard.
- Remove the knee bolster.
- Remove the steering column upper and lower covers.
- Unplug the connectors from the ignition switch.
- Remove the steering column mounting nuts.
- Lower the steering column.
- Center punch the shear bolts.
- Use a 3/16" (5mm) drill bit to drill out the heads of the bolts.
- Remove the shear bolts, then remove the lock cylinder assembly.
- Without the key in the lock cylinder, insert it into the steering column.
- Finger-tighten the new shear bolts.
- Insert the key into the new lock cylinder and check for proper switch operation.
- Tighten the shear bolts until they snap off.
- Align the steering column and tighten the bolts.
- Plug the harness into the ignition switch.
- Install the steering column covers.
- Install the dashboard panel and knee bolster.
- Enable the air bag system.
