Car cranks over, will not fire?

1996 Chevrolet Blazer:

Car cranks over, will not fire. Pump has 56 lbs of pressure, Reads crank shaft sensor, replaced. Won't run when starter fluid is sprayed into throttle body.

What about the distributor?

Took it to the mechanic and he suggested .................
Try pulling the boot off the cap and rotor to see if you are getting spark. Pull the boot off the cap and rotor and hold it a 1/4 inch from a good ground. Have an assistant turn it over and see if you get spark. Be sure to hold the wire with insulated pliers. If there is no spark then it could be the coil. If you are getting spark then your timing could be off.
Other parts that can cause this problem. 1. coil 2. timing is off 3. distributor 4. ignition control module 5. engine control module
Start with the distributor and work back to see where the spark is dying.
