To get usb drive to startup disk. You need to plug in the usb drive, then start the computer and go into the bios setup, by pressing del or f2 or f1 it should say when you turn it on. once in you will have a list of options, you need to look for boot device priority or something similar and move the usb hard drive to the top of the list. Note only newer computers will have this option. some computers will support pressing f12 when the computer starts up to select a different boot device.
