Windows XP: Right-click on "My Computer" and select "Manage". From there, select "Disk Management" which lets you view the drives and do things to partition.
If you are using an Apple Mac, with OS X, go to the Applications folder then into utilities and find the Application Disk Utilities. This will format or partion drives for you. If it is the Main Drive (Startup drive) you need to Partition you will need to Boot the computer from your install disks. The Startup drive will then be available.
NOTE: Be sure to back up everything before partitioning, the procedure will wipe the target drive.
