How to replace Oil Pan on Buick Rendezvous?

The oil pan replacing Procedure is as follows.

Buick Rendezevous Oil pan removal and installation details are as follows:----

3.4L & 3.5L Engines
Use care when servicing the oil pan. The engine main bearing caps are drilled and tapped for structural oil pan side bolts. Do not overlook the side bolts when attempting to remove the oil pan.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Drain the engine oil.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:
    NOTE
    It is not necessary to disconnect any of the A/C lines from the compressor.



    Engine mount struts
    A/C compressor and set it aside
  4. Install an engine support fixture.
  5. Remove or disconnect the following:
    NOTE
    You will need to use a torque wrench adapter to remove and install the right side oil pan bolts.



    Catalytic converter pipe from the right side exhaust manifold, as necessary
    Oil pressure sensor wiring harness connector
    Starter
    Transaxle brace from the oil pan
    Remove the transaxle mount to cradle nuts.
    Engine harness clips for the wheel speed sensor from the right lower control arm.
    Rotate the ball stud nut counterclockwise in order to separate the ball stud from the steering knuckle.
    Remove the retainers that secure the brake line to the frame.
    Cradle bolts and make certain that an engine stand (such as J 39580) is aligned below the engine, remove the cradle.
    Remove the oil pan side bolts.
    Remove the oil pan bolts.
    Remove the oil pan.
    Remove the oil pan gasket.
    Clean the oil pan sealing surfaces.
To install:

  1. Apply a small amount of sealer GM 1234579 on both sides of the bearing cap.
  2. Install or connect the following:

    Oil pan gasket
    Oil pan. Tighten the bottom bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm) and the side bolts, using a torque wrench adapter (tool J 39505), to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
    Install the cradle. Tighten front bolts to 114 ft. lbs. (155 Nm.), rear bolts to 177 ft. lbs. (240 Nm.).
    Transaxle mount nuts. Tighten the nuts to 35 inch lbs. (47 Nm).
    Retainers that secure the brake line to the frame.
    Engine harness electrical connector (1) to the oil pressure sensor.
    Starter. Torque the bolts to 35 ft. lbs. (47 Nm).
    Transaxle brace to the oil pan. Tighten the bolts to 32 ft. lbs. (43 Nm).
    Catalytic converter pipe to the right side exhaust manifold. Tighten the bolts to 26 ft. lbs. (35 Nm).
  3. Install or connect the following:

    A/C compressor. Tighten the bolts to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
  4. Remove the engine support fixture and install:

    Engine mount struts. Tighten the fasteners to 52 ft. lbs. (70 Nm).
    Negative battery cable
  5. Fill the engine with oil.
  6. Start the vehicle and inspect for leaks, repair if necessary.
3.6L Engine
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Remove the engine, transaxle and sub-frame from the vehicle and install the engine on an engine stand.
  3. Remove the A/C compressor with the hoses from the engine.
  4. Remove the engine front cover.

  5. Remove the oil pan bolts and, using the pry points, remove the pan.
To install:

  1. Install 8mm (0.315 in) guides pins into the center oil pan rail bolt hole on each side of the engine block.

    Fig. Place a 3mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant on the block pan rail and the crankshaft rear oil seal housing-3.6L engine
  2. Place a 3mm (0.118 in) bead of RTV sealant, GM P/N 12378521 (Canadian P/N 88901148) or equivalent, on the block pan rail and the crankshaft rear oil seal housing.
  3. Position the oil pan onto the block.
  4. Remove the 8mm (0.315 in) guides from the engine block.
  5. Loosely install the oil pan bolts.

  6. Tighten the oil pan bolts in sequence shown. Tighten the 8mm bolts (1-11) to 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm). Tighten the 6 mm bolts (12, 13) to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
  7. Install the engine front cover.

  8. Place the A/C compressor in position to the cylinder block.
  9. Loosely install the A/C compressor bolts.
  10. Tighten the A/C compressor front upper bolt to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
  11. Tighten the A/C compressor rear upper bolt to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
  12. Tighten the A/C compressor rear lower bolt to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
  13. Tighten the A/C compressor front lower bolt to 16 ft. lbs. (22 Nm).
  14. Install the engine to the transmission and frame and install the assembled unit in the vehicle.
