Brake lights not operating.First check the fuse controlling the Brake lights.
See the fuse box diagram shown below:-----
The fuse for the brake lights is labeled "STOP" in the fuse box. If the fuse is good, and still no brake lights, then commonly, the Stop Lamp Switch, located at the top of the brake pedal arm is the culprit. Inspect the electrical conenctor for any loose, broken or damaged wires. Inspect that the alignment of the switch is correct. If the visual inspection checks ok, replace the switch.
The fuse box diagram is shown below:---
If fuse checked pout ok or if you replace the fuse and still the same problem then replace Stop lamp switch/Brake light switch.
The Switch is Readily available in any store. Due to it being electrical in nature, i'd suggest a "better quality" parts store like NAPA or from any branded part store or original part from dealer.
See the switch location image below:-----
To replace the switch.
Unplug the elecrical connector and unscrew the switch from the bracket. Just make sure to align correctly when installing the new switch. With the brake pedal depressed, the "plunger" on the switch should be at full extension.
This details will help.
Thanks.
