2004 Chrysler 300m: Transmission Relearn Procedure?

Is it necessary to perform transmission relearn procedure after replace valve body and transmission solenoid pack.

The transmission control module is a pretty smart device and and stores many parameters within its memory. For instance it stores how long it takes to engage a gear, so it is like an adaptive system . When you change something within the transmission or overhaul it, the TCM has to be like reset and this is called Quick LearnProcedure. It will work even if you do not do so, but it will use parameters for "old" transmission.
So if you are replacing the transmission or its internal solenoid parts.I recommend you to perform the relearn procedure.This procedure can be done with a DRB III scan tool.

It is better to perform the quick learn procedure so that you transmission will shift properly and more smoothly. It is not a big deal if you do not. It will learn itself over time. But if you perform relearn procedure then transmission shift issues will get sorted out.
