P0500 code on Nissan Maxima

The error code P0500 is for faulty VSS.

VSS  means Vehicle speed sensor.

When these sensor goes faulty,the problem with speedomneter will be noticed.

There is a sensor called a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). This sensor measure how fast the car is going, sends the signal to the ECM and the to the gauge. The gauge itself and the speedometer cable do not measure the speed, it's the sensor that needs to be replaced

Then only vehicle speedometer will show accurate vehicle speed.

The approx cost of these sensor is $35.
