2003 Ford Ranger: How to Access Rear Spark Plugs?

If the spark plugs are faulty, then replace it.
Front Spark plugs are easy to access and replace.

Many Ford Ranger owners find accessing rear Spark plugs difficult.

But its simple.

The easy access to the spark plugs is through the wheel wells. For this just remove the fender splash shield, and you'll get a clear shot at the plugs. Use an extension on your spark plug socket, and you'll be good to go.
For more help, see the diagram shown below:----

2007 KIA Rio: Brake Light Fuse Box Diagram?

Brake lights not operating.First check the fuse controlling the Brake lights.

See the fuse box diagram shown below:-----

The fuse for the brake lights is labeled "STOP" in the fuse box. If the fuse is good, and still no brake lights, then commonly, the Stop Lamp Switch, located at the top of the brake pedal arm is the culprit. Inspect the electrical conenctor for any loose, broken or damaged wires. Inspect that the alignment of the switch is correct. If the visual inspection checks ok, replace the switch.

The fuse box diagram is shown below:---
fuse box instrument panel

If fuse checked pout ok or if you replace the fuse and still the same problem then replace Stop lamp switch/Brake light switch.

The Switch is Readily available in any store. Due to it being electrical in nature, i'd suggest a "better quality" parts store like NAPA or from any branded part store or original part from dealer.

See the switch location image below:-----

stop lamp switch

To replace the switch.
Unplug the elecrical connector and unscrew the switch from the bracket. Just make sure to align correctly when installing the new switch. With the brake pedal depressed, the "plunger" on the switch should be at full extension.

This details will help.

Thanks.

2006 GM Montana: How to replace Starter Solenoid?

When the ignition is turned ON,just a one click noise is head and nothing else.

First test the battery voltage. If its proper 12 volts, then try jump start. If the same Click is heard and nothing else then yes its starter related.

The 1-click per ignition cycle is the classic sign of a faulty Starter Solenoid.
On 06 Montana, the solenoid is mounted to the side of the starter motor, and is most commonly replaced as a starter assembly (the new starter comes with a new solenoid).
Before replacing the starter unit.Try this procedure:---------
There is an old trick that will sometimes make the car start. Have someone lightly tap on the solenoid while another person is cranking the ignition. Just give a quick double check to the connections at the solenoid, looking for any loose, broken or damaged wires. If the visual inspection checks ok, replace the starter. (The 3.5L engine is shown in the image below.

The Part Location diagram is as follows:---------

2003 Dodge Grand Caravan: OBD Error Code P0456?

Check Engine light Code P0456.

This code is occurred due to many reasons.Proper troubleshooting is required.

The P0456 is "EVAP System Small Leak Detected". This is actually a very hard one to diagnose, as there are many things that can set this code.
To start your troubleshooting to clear this code from your vehicles computer memory ,
First, check the Fuel Cap and make sure it is tight.
Also properly inspect the underside of the cap for any defects that may keep it from sealing tightly.
If there are any doubts or cap looks dirty ,old and worn out - replace the cap.

Please note, use branded parts. You'll need a cap that meets Dodge specs. Those "universal" or "discount" caps they sell at AutoZone will not seal the system.

But Now we Assume that  cap is  good, and no problems, the next part to look at is the EVAP Purge Solenoid.
For this carefully inspect the vacuum lines to the solenoid for any cracks, holes or loose/missing connections. The solenid should then be tested for proper operation. If the Purge Solenoid checks ok, the next item to look into is the Leak Detection Pump (aka NVLD Pump). Again, inspect the vacuum lines and test for functionality.
Most commonly, this will be a faulty fuel cap or the Purge Solenoid,
but please be aware that there are many items in the EVAP (emissions control) System, that when faulty, set the P0456 error code and there needs to be a lot of testing done to find the actual culprit.

One more thing  with this error code, the vehicle will not show any symptoms, as this is a fault in the Emissions system, and will not effect engine performance in any way at all.The Engine will perform absolutely fine in most of cases.

See the parts diagram shown below. This will show you which parts to be checked and where tare they located:--------
EVAP Assembly dodge

Also see the Leak detection pump location:--------

leak detection pump NVLD

In some cases you will notice that Disconnecting the battery cables for few minutes then reconnecting the cable helps to reset the system and error code clears and engine light turns off.But this will not help in all cases. The light will come Back again.

The reason the light goes out when  the battery cables are removed, is this does a "code clear". It's like "re-booting" the on-board computer. Once the on-board computer resets, and re-checks all the systems, it will find the problem again, and the engine light WILL return. This is known as a "drive cycle" and usually takes 50-75 miles of city/highway driving. When the light returns, you will need to look into the Purge Solenoid and NVLD as stated above.

This details will help.
Thanks.

2007 Chrysler 300: Transmission Stuck in Park?

Transmission will not come out of Park mode.
Its stuck up completely.
Not go in forward drive or reverse mode.

This Problem is very much noticed on Dodge and Chrysler Vehicles.
There is also a recall for this issue.

First try the basics to sort out this issue.Test and inspect most common possibilities and see if that helps. If not then go through the Recall, which i will mentioned below for your help.

The Basics are as follows:------------

The shifter will not move from Park

  • First- check your rear brake lights and see if they are working when you step on the brake pedal.

If the brake lights are NOT working, first check your fuses.

  • If the fuses are good, and still no brake lights, then the problem will be the Brake Light Switch located at the top of the brake pedal arm.

This switch control the rear brake lights, and also sends a signal to the Shift Interlock telling it to release when the brake pedal is depressed.
  • Inspect the electrical connector for any loose or broken wires. If the visual inspection checks ok, replacing the switch will solve the problem.

Now we assume
If the brake lights ARE working, then the problem is going to be a broken spring internal of the shifter assembly. This is actually a "known problem" and there is a current Recall on the issue:

Go through this recall and understand the details mentioned in this troubleshooting:-----------

This is actually a HUGE problem for Dodge/Chrysler, and they have issued a Recall (of sorts) .
The number of this recall was #K39.
Many dodge and Chrysler users faced this problem. The problem is a broken srping retainer internal of the shifter assembly. The recall will have them remove the shifter assembly, and "rebuild" it for you, absolutely Free. Unfortunately, due to the location of the break, not even the "over-ride" procedure will work.

This is what  Dodge/Chrysler Service center detail says:------------

Customer Satisfaction Notification K39
PROBLEM:--- Transmission Shifter Interlock Lever.

ON THIS PROBLEM COMPANY SAYS.............
At Chrysler Group LLC, you can be assured that we are changing the way we look at quality. To prove our commitment to quality, the company is investing in and prioritizing improvements for every vehicle that we build. As part of that commitment, we are also targeting existing vehicles on the road today and contacting our customers to provide these quality improvements, at no charge, that will help to improve your ownership satisfaction.
We are recommending the following improvements be performed on some 2005 through 2007 model year Dodge Charger, Magnum and Chrysler 300 equipped with a floor shifter.
The transmission gear shift lever interlock return spring hook on your vehicle may break. A broken interlock return spring hook will result in the inability to move the gear shift lever out of the "PARK" position.

To solve this problem please go to the nearest dealer of your car:----
What your dealer will do?

Chrysler will service your vehicle free of charge (parts and labor). To do this, your dealer will replace the transmission shifter interlock lever. The work will take about one hour to complete. We recommend that you make an appointment with your dealer to minimize your inconvenience

So if you notice such same problem with your Chrysler/ dodge vehicle
What you should do?

Simply contact your Chrysler, Jeep, or Dodge dealer, at your convenience, to schedule a service appointment. Your dealer will collect the necessary information to ensure that the appropriate parts are available so your service can be completed in a timely manner. Although not required, we recommend bringing this letter with you to your dealer, when you bring your vehicle in for this service.

For more assistance from service center

Please contact the Chrysler Group Recall Assistance Center at 1-800-853-1403.

--------------------------------

For more help.I suggest you to try the Override procedure. This helped in some cases:--------

If the brake lights ARE working, and you'd like to try the "over-ride" procedure, use the procedure below. If this over-ride does not work, this is confirmation the problem is the broken spring, and the shifter will need to be replaced/rebuilt in accpordance with the Recall:

In the event of an electrical failure, the vehicle can be shifted out of PARK by
using the following procedure.

  1. Turn the key to the ACC or ON position.
  2. Then remove the liner to the cubby bin to the right side of the shifter.
  3. Once this is done, then depress the BTSI override (2) on the side of the shifter assembly (1).
  4. Now while the override is depressed, you have to  move the shifter out of the PARK position
  5. Return the cubby bin liner to its original location.

See the Help Diagram Shown Below:-------
Shifter override

This details will help.
Thanks.

2004 Chrysler Sebring: Engine Runs Fine But Oil Light Stays ON?

Oil warning light comes up on dash.

In this case first confirm if oil is low or oil is not changed from long time.If oil is very old replace it with new/.f its low, then add new fresh oil.Drain old oil.

If oil filter is very old and clogged, replace it with new,

But if you have already tested this basics and replace oil and oil filter.

Then notice what problem is noticed while driving.

If there is no noise and engine runs fine.
Then more troubleshooting is required.
Read as follows :----------

As long as you are not hearing any unusual engine noises like knocking or tapping when the Oil Light is on, then most commonly this is a problem with the Oil Pressure Sensor. This problem is noticed many a times,Over time, the internal resistance of the sensor tends to wear out, and it has a hard time reading the correct oil pressure at an idle. Inspect the electrical connector and make sure there are no loose or oil soaked wires. If the visual inspection checks ok, replace the sensor.

There is also a Technical Service Bulletin on this issue that states to better protect against the sensor failing in the future, a wire terminal/vent,As per your car model year the Part number  :-----
05017800AA, in place of the removed sealing dart, should also be installed.

See below the diagram showing Sensor Location Part:-----
